If Vito had to choose a superpower, it would definitely be Determination. It's not something you notice right away, but it's always there inside him. It's that silent force that allows him to give the best of himself and to conquer new goals. It's precisely this uniqueness that has pushed him out of his comfort zone and earned him the esteem and respect of his team.
Determination: an edge for your goals
According to Angela Duckworth, professor of psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, genius and talent are overrated. This is because, given equal talent and intelligence, some people are nevertheless more successful than others.
The reason is to be found in their determination, what Duckworth calls the "grit scale", a mixture of passion and perseverance for an important goal. For the professor, grit means "following your future, day after day, not just for a week, not just for a month, but for years, and working really hard to make the future a reality".
People full of determination experience discouragement, sure, but they know that, thanks to their perseverance, they can overcome the obstacles they find themselves facing. The important thing is to always continue with the same passion and vision of the future.

Angela Duckworth herself developed a list of four tips for developing your own determination, which can be summarised as follows:
Find your passion, to discover what drives you to face new challenges every day.
Practice perseverance, training yourself to be constant, dividing goals into small milestones.
Find your goal, because determination is a combination of passion and purpose.
Develop resilience and hope, or act in the present to understand what to do concretely to improve your future.

The determination approach in this context not only supports the individual in their personal growth, but also contributes to building inclusive and resilient environments, where diversity is celebrated and perseverance is encouraged.
